Our Ethics

Let's talk ethics...

We are proud to say we take ethics very seriously here at Crystal and the Wolf. We ensure all of our crystals are fully 100% mindfully sourced. This is done by working with our suppliers to ensure, the crystals are mined with the least amount of damage done to our Mother Earth as possible.

Every single crystal is thoughtfully picked out, they aren’t just “stock” to us, we’re genuinely wanting to find each crystal that comes to us it’s forever home ♥

In regards to our sourcing – We only purchase with a few suppliers, we have been shown mining conditions, via skype and zoom, continuously over periods of months, and questioned all the community and worker conditions. Seen all permits, and conservation programmes. Many of our mining friends we have met along the way on our travels! This is very important to us, hence why not all crystals are available at the moment, such as Lapis lazuli. We hope to find a good supplier and miner in the near future.

let's talk about being ecologically friendly...

Since day one it’s been extremely important to us to be as eco-friendly as we can be as a business. Therefore, you will find that there isn’t any plastic ordered for our packaging. All crystals are carefully wrapped in acid-free tissue paper, or re-used bubble wrap from our suppliers. *We do ask our suppliers to use newspaper where possible in packaging, but some prefer bubble wrap due to risks with breakages* So this is reused, and we ask our customers to re-use or recycle if their area allows.

*So to reiterate; we can proudly say no plastic is actually ordered by us 🙂

We only use cardboard boxes for shipping which is FSC approved, and fully recyclable. All our tape used is paper based, and the glue is non-toxic, and is fully recyclable! Our business cards/thank you cards, are all printed on non-laminated card, with acid-free ink, so can also be recycled. Our stamps which we use on packaging are plastic free (wooden with a washable rubber base), and again the ink used is acid-free. Some crystals come in non-dyed burlap pouches (which is made from the jute plant in India, and from a sustainable source), these can be used to carry smaller crystal babies in! Rustic twine is often used in our packaging, coloured with a safe dye. Our boxes are stuffed with shredded cardboard paper, to ensure your new crystals make it safely, and do not get knocked about too much during shipping!

Crystals are chosen by us, and ordered in bulk to try and reduce multiple shipping where possible.

We only have one planet we want to make sure we are doing all we can do as a business to look after it! From every sale a percentage of the profit helps to plant a tree. So thank you ♥
